Brittany Snow, one of the stars of Pitch Perfect, is in final negotiations to join Gina Rodriguez in Someone Great, a romantic comedy that Jennifer Kaytin Robinson is helming for Netflix.
Written by Robinson, Someone Great centers on a woman (Rodriguez) who, after a heart-wrenching breakup, decides to seek adventure in New York City with her two best friends before she moves across the country for her dream job.
Snow will play one of the best friends on the Big Apple trip.
Paul Feig and Jessie Henderson of Feigco are producing the movie, as are Anthony Bregman and Peter Cron of Likely Story. Rodriguez is also producing via her shingle I Can and I Will Productions.
Someone Great is due to start shooting in early April.
Snow just wrapped production on Milkshake, a short film starring Anna Camp and Shree Crooks which Snow wrote, directed and produced. The project, also produced by Constanza Castro and Domenica Castro, tells the story of a daughter searching for her mother’s approval and validation.
Snow, repped by WME, Principal Entertainment and attorney P.J. Shapiro, has starred in all three Pitch Perfect movies, which have grossed over $585 million worldwide.

New movie role for Brittany:
Veteran camera operator Patrick O’Brien, who has worked in the business for the past 25 years, is making his feature film directing debut with the dramatic thriller Stripped, with Charlie Cox (Daredevil, The Theory of Everything) and Brittany Snow (Pitch Perfect) attached to star. The film will be produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Erik Howsam of di Bonaventura Pictures and O’Brien in partnership with Vancouver-based Lighthouse Pictures. Written by Matthew O’Brien, the story follows Will Hickey (Cox), a married professional who becomes increasingly obsessed with a high-priced escort leading him down a dark path of deception and murder. Snow plays Will’s wife, Penny. The project is slated to begin production in Vancouver this fall.
Looks like Brittany has landed a new movie role:
Pitch Perfect songbird Brittany Snow has lined up a potentially treacherous New York journey before the Barden Bellas reunite for a third outing.
The actress has boarded XYZ Films and Bullett Pictures’ Dave Bautista action vehicle Bushwick, replacing Suburgatory and Evil Dead reboot star Jane Levy, who was cast in March.
Snow will play a young woman who finds her neighborhood in Brooklyn under attack, with New York being used as a negotiation tool as Texas tries to secede from the U.S.
Bautista, fresh from the recent record-breaking bow of Spectre in the U.K., will star as a war vet who helps her cross the five blocks of Bushwick — littered with looters, local militias, invading forces and one crazy cousin — to get home and be reunited with her grandmother.
Cary Murnion and Jonathan Milott, who wrote the story for Bushwick, will direct from a screenplay by Nick Damici and Graham Reznik. XYZ’s co-founder Nate Bolotin will serve as producer alongside Bullett’s Adam Folk and Joseph Mensch of Mensch Productions. Bautista and Jonathan Meisner are exec producing with Todd Brown and Nick Spicer of XYZ.
XYZ is shopping the project to international buyers at the AFM and co-repping with WME Global for U.S. sales.
Bushwick is set to start shooting in New York next month.
Snow is managed by Gotham/Principal and represented by WME and attorney P.J. Shapiro. Bautista is represented by Gersh, manager Jonathan Meisner and attorney Jay Rosenthal. Murnion and Milott are represented by Verve and managed by PYE.
