This is a few weeks old, but it might be potentially good news for Britt’s pilot that wasn’t picked up by FOX:
Fox is redeveloping The Assistants. The network and studio Warner Bros. Television have extended the options on stars Brittany Snow, Stephen Root, Catherine O’Hara and Jillian Bell with an eye toward re-piloting the comedy, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. The Assistants (previously To My Future Assistant) is based on the blog and book To My Assistant by Lydia Whitlock. The single-camera comedy revolves around assistants at a big New York law firm who band together as a family to help one another cope with the obnoxious, overbearing bosses who challenge their sanity on a daily basis. The original pilot starred Snow (Pitch Perfect) as Jen, a pretty, athletic, ambitious and tightly wound aspiring attorney who just passed the bar and is hoping for a promotion. O’Hara (the Christopher Guest movies) was Magda, one of the bitchy attorneys at the firm; Root (Boardwalk Empire) plays Jen’s boss Frank, an intense attorney who isn’t the monster he seems. Bell, for whom Assistants is in second position to Comedy Central’s Workaholics, is a recurring guest star who played Denny, a single mom and assistant at the firm whose apathy toward her job occasionally prompts her to take three-hour breaks to tend to her son — or go to the movies. Friends’ Sherry Bilsing-Graham and Ellen Kreamer penned the Warner Bros. Television pilot and executive produce alongside Lin Pictures’ Dan Lin and Jennifer Gwartz. Fox passed over the pilot in May. A formal pilot order has not officially been announced.
